The award was for 'Voluntary service to Girlguiding in Wimbledon', a pursuit that Samantha has dedicated many hours to throughout her adult life, which has afforded numerous girls a wealth of opportunities to learn, connect and explore. Coincidentally, Samantha's husband, Keith, was also awarded a separate BEM for 'Services to Scouting and Canoeing in Surrey and SW London. 

On 27th September 2021, Samantha was able to collect her medal at a special service held at Westminster Abbey, a wonderful way to mark the occasion. 

Malden Oaks staff and students are so lucky to be able to benefit from the ethos that Samantha brings with her from Girl Guiding and are incredibly proud to be led by such a passionate and dedicated person. Congratulations, Samantha!
