Curriculum

The 6Oaks curriculum covers a wide range of subject areas and levels for students aged 16-19. Students will be able to combine subjects and courses to suit their individual interests.

Where students have not achieved a grade 4 in Maths and/or English, they will be required to continue with those subjects. This could be a GCSE re-take in one or both of those subjects or Maths and English at a level that is accessible and appropriate for the student.

We offer education at A/AS level, GCSE, functional skills and entry level subjects and courses. A student's timetable can combine a mixture of levels. For example:

Student A

  • A levels in Biology, Art and English

Student B

  • GCSEs in Maths, English and Geography

  • Life Skills Catering

Student C

  • A Level History

  • GCSE Maths and Chemistry

Student D

  • Entry Level Maths

  • GCSE English and Art

  • Life Skills Catering

In addition to subject options, all students will be offered PSHE lessons and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The volunteering section of this award includes the opportunity to take part in work experience in an area of interest.

Please see our curriculum booklet attached at the base of this page for full details.
