Free School Meals

Your child could be eligible for free school meals if you or your partner receive a qualifying benefit from this list:

  • income support
  • income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • the Guarantee Credit element of State Pension Credit
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of less than £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit

If you do not receive benefits

Children attending Malden Oaks up  to Year 11 can get free school meals if your household income is below a specific amount.

  • Households with one child: Your household income must be less than £31,200.
  • Households with 2 or more children: Your household income must be less than £34,800.

After you apply

  • If they decide that you qualify - they will let you and Malden Oaks know and the entitlement will start straight away.
  • On some occasions, they may need to contact you for further information to assess your application.
