Malden Oaks is a specialist and innovative SEMH provision based across Kingston and Richmond, also supporting students aged 11-19 with EHCPs from neighbouring boroughs.

We're proud that our unique, bespoke support enables our students to enjoy a wide curriculum, experience success, and find a place where they truly belong. As one parent told us:

We provide a safe and stimulating environment where students of all abilities are encouraged to have high aspirations and to develop self-confidence and positive relationships. As a specialist provision, we understand the difficult circumstances students can face when a setting isn't meeting their needs, or when they're simply not well enough to attend school - and the impact this can have on the wider family.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide choice of GCSEs and A Levels, taught by specialist subject teachers. This mirrors the curriculum taught in mainstream schools and colleges, allowing for an easy transition back to mainstream if and when the time is right.

We're proud of our excellent academic results, which reflect the progress students can make with the right, tailored support - but results are only part of the picture. Alongside our formal taught curriculum, we offer an inspiring outdoor education and Duke of Edinburgh programme, helping students develop in a wider sense, particularly their social and communication skills.

Everything we do is underpinned by our 4 As resilience programme. Students are given opportunities to develop:

This evidence-based approach draws on growth mindset thinking and a simple idea: anything we can't do, we just can't do yet.

We see all behaviour as a form of communication, and so we take a needs-based response to situations. Rather than impose sanctions, we look to identify the support a student needs in that moment. We're recognised as an Attachment Aware and Trauma-Informed school, and we've found these principles align closely with our own - most clearly reflected in our Relationships and Communication Policy, which has replaced the traditional 'behaviour' policy.
